"Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me."

August 18, 2015

"Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."
- 2 Nephi 31:20

This week, I would only like to write about a few things: the hope that faith in Christ brings, and the power that we can feel as we walk in paths that are correct even if we must do so alone.

This week, I studied the scriptures a lot. All I found was great amounts of peace and joy as I did so. I have learned that faith is the firm belief in something that leads us to action. When our faith is based in Christ, it becomes that action to apply His teachings and His atonement in our lives. I have learned that as we truly do that which we know is right while putting our faith in Christ, we are able to receive His spirit, receive His help, and receive His direction. I’ve felt that this week Satan and his demons have been trying to work on me to discourage me. But, through prayer and the scriptures, I feel the power of the Lord in my life.

I have seen this week that as we follow our faith--even if we must walk alone--and as we follow the correct paths that Christ had laid for us to follow, we are truly lifted up in your burdens. It never was meant to be something easy; following Christ requires sacrifice and a lot of work, but, IT IS POSSIBLE. I’ve been able to see that in my mission, especially this week. As members, we do things that are different, and even weird to some people, but it is correct. It is the teachings of Christ, so why should we falter? You keep walking. You keep trying. It will all be alright in the end. I so promise and testify.

I love you all, and I hope that you have had a good week. I share these things because the people that we are teaching have told us their experiences. These are the thing I learned over and over again this week.
