"If one drop of rain can find its way to the ocean, one prayer can find its way to God."
- Linda Poindexter
This week was amazing. I really loved everything that happened. We were working as usual, and it was a week where I was able to really rebound from all the setbacks: people being rude, people saying inappropriate things about us, the usual.
We had the glorious blessing of rain again here in Chile, and not just a little rain, but a lot! It wasn’t all week long, but it rained really strong here. It’s great to be in an area where it really rains. It was really amazing to work here and enjoy it all! This week was full of us finding out that people can be so rude. It’s crazy how some people here are so rude, and yet others are so kind. We were walking in the streets one day, and a man who is well known to me as a man who usually says inappropriate comments about the church and Joseph Smith approached me. It was interesting to have him approach us, greet us, and invite us to follow him. Not saying that we weren’t freaked out, but we were confident in the protective power of God in these moments. We followed him, and he led us to his home. We entered and met his mother of about 75 years. It was a weird, but great, and surprising moment of time where we could share a little with the family. We were able to teach them a little about the restoration of the church. It was amazing to get to know his family and the great love that they have for him. They worry about him always because he goes out in the streets all day, and he has so much potential to be a greater man. If he would only stop drinking so much...
Well, I have been able to learn so much in the mission field, and I've now been here for one year and 3 months! Crazy, right?? But, in my time, I have been able to learn that the tender mercies of God are real, and that He is always mindful of us. I know that. I hope that you all can come to knowledge of that as well. I love you all and hope you have a great week.
